STEM Education at CASC
Inspire the Next Generation Through Aviation & STEM
At the Canadian Air & Space Conservancy Museum, our STEM-based education programs are designed to bring science, technology, engineering, and math to life through real-world aviation history.
Students don’t just learn – they experience.
From the story of the Avro Arrow to the fundamentals of flight, our guided programs connect classroom concepts to Canada’s rich aerospace legacy in a way that is interactive, memorable, and curriculum-aligned.
Designed to support Ontario’s Grade 6 Science curriculum, this program introduces students to the forces that make flight possible.
Students will explore:
- The four forces of flight: lift, thrust, drag, and gravity
- Basic aerodynamics through real aircraft examples
- Canadian innovation in aviation history
- The story and significance of the Avro Arrow
Learning Outcome:
Students leave with a clear understanding of how flight works — and how science and innovation shape the world around them.
Aligned with Ontario Grade 10 Science and Technology courses, this program dives deeper into aerospace engineering, design thinking, and innovation.
Students will explore:
- Aircraft design and structural considerations
- The role of engineering in aviation advancement
- The Avro Arrow as a case study in Canadian innovation and political decision-making
- Real-world applications of physics and engineering principles
Learning Outcome:
Students gain insight into STEM career pathways while developing a deeper understanding of how engineering and innovation intersect with society.
